Kate Rusby

I am not related to Kate. At least we have not made any family tree connections. When Kate was getting established I was able to communicate with her family and her parents are tuly nice people. All the family is nice and I am glad to see their success.

The family works on her projects and they have their own record company, Pure Records. (I hope I have that correct). Kate writes many of her own songs and has help with them from her Husband, John McCusker.
We have especially enjoyed her new DVD "Live From Leeds" which was a recorded concert and it gives you a chance to see what it is like for her to do a concert. We also liked the interviews included because it was getting to know someone who might have had similar roots and really getting to see a glimpse of their personal life.

Kate did an American tour a couple of years ago and some of our family tried to attend the shows but they were always sold out early. A couple of years ago I made a quick trip to England and Scotland related to a family member and the military. I learned that Kate was at a concert in Cambridge so I tried to attend. Not only was the concert sold out, access to the town was closed because of the crowds. Then, we were in Edinburgh for one day and later learned that Kate had appeared the next day and I was long gone.

I gather from her Dad that I should not expect her back in the States and so I treasure my DVD and other cds.
